Throughout my childhood I saw my parents celebrating Valentine's Day as a significant occasion, with kisses and gifts, whereas their wedding anniversary would sometimes pass without notice. I asked my mother about it when I was a teenager and she said, "On Valentine's Day was when we vowed to be together forever. Our wedding day was to show everyone else our vow, but Valentine's Day was all for us."<br /><br />My parents celebrated their 61st Valentines Day this week. Their 60th Wedding Anniversary is in June.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5707936029476973010.post-64245887544962276252013-02-15T12:12:20.943-08:002013-02-15T12:12:20.943-08:00Thanks Sooz... a bit less traditional than the rel...Thanks Sooz... a bit less traditional than the related novel:>) But it was fun to consider St. Valentine's perspective.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09501320307949164078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5707936029476973010.post-20312000776139042092013-02-15T12:11:09.863-08:002013-02-15T12:11:09.863-08:00Thanks Janna... Either way, as with most saints, he was most likely martyred and died and ugly death. So, it is rather kind of him to support love after all of that. I guess that is what makes him a saint:>)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09501320307949164078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5707936029476973010.post-77142296814672513062013-02-15T07:36:32.729-08:002013-02-15T07:36:32.729-08:00Thanks for an entertaining story, Deanne.
